About Jacob

- Trauma and PTSD
- Couples counseling

- Parent-child relationship
- LGBTQ+ identity exploration
Our sessions will often integrate mindfulness practices and somatic techniques, all with the goal of becoming grounded in our present experience so that we may take steps towards change in the here-and-now towards a better way of being.
I studied philosophy and theology at Boston College, which informs my existential and systemic perspectives on therapy. I also served Spokane as a case manager working with formerly homeless families. Following those experiences, I earned my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2023 from Whitworth University.
I have researched the impact of stress and trauma on both individual and social systems, and received training in biofeedback and mindfulness practices. I have been trained in Lifespan Integration (Level 1). A trauma-informed modality utilizing approaches informed by attachment theory, interpersonal neurobiology, and Jungian concepts. I am also a trained marriage and family therapist, which is oriented in addressing the needs of relationships while holding space for individual experiences and social context. I have received specific training in The Gottman Method (Level 1) and Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples (Level 1).
I seek to help couples understand rules, roles and rituals which exist in relationships and how those are driven by our collective emotional experience. I am also honored to work with the LGBTQ+ community in Spokane, and am welcoming of all families and types of relationships.
