You should expect a warm, inviting and safe space where you can feel free to share what you choose. The first session will consist mostly of information gathering. Your therapist will collect information about what is bothering you most and let you know what to expect going forward with your treatment. We will also talk through insurance or self-pay details.
Most people feel ready to consider counseling or therapy when they feel emotional struggles, a significant transition or relationship issues have begun to affect their daily lives and their ability to cope.
We tailor our therapeutic approach to each individual situation, so it’s impossible to say that here. However, many people find 3-6 months is enough to address their issues and feel better.
